Guide to Girls Hostel(GH)

The NSIT girls hostel is situated at the far end of the campus and is a good 7-10 minute walk from the main building .There are almost 200 people residing in the hostel and 3 girls usually share a room.

The best thing about living in hostel is the sheer freedom! There's absolutely no one to monitor your activities...when you study..when you sleep...it can almost get a little unnerving! For the first few months you really cant get enough of the amazing feeling of being on your own...having late night conversations with your roommates..basically having a blast!

Student Experience

"Why NSIT?"
A question that every student applying for     admission to NSIT has in his/her mind.
Here in this article, the students of NSIT speak up on their decision of choosing NSIT over the others. Also, giving us a fair glance at how their experience has been so far.

TWISHI TYAGI
BATCH OF 2018, COE
JEE MAINS AIR: 233; HARYANA RANK 11

I realised that securing a rank is just a step and with it comes an even bigger responsibility of choosing the right college because the number of options for me were humongous. I chose NSIT primarily because it is the dream of many to pursue graduation under the esteemed Delhi University. Besides, the placement records attract one to the college too.

I just love my college. After coming here, I have never regretted my decision of choosing NSIT. The green campus and the seniors always keep me motivated to learn and explore new horizons.
Being the rank opener of the college has always been a proud feeling for me but the best part about NSIT is that it inspires you to learn more and not give up in any condition. There is no limit to success, the more you chase it, the more you discover. I will not leave even a single stone unturned to give my best to further enhance the prestige of my college.

URMI ARORA
BATCH OF 2017, ECE
JEE MAINS AIR: 2383
I had various options like nits ,dtu , nsit and iiit. I chose nsit over the rest because it has the best placements which are comparable to iits. It is the only engineering college under the Delhi university which gives nsitians an edge over the others while applying for higher studies. Also, the faculty of nsit is highly qualified and experienced.

The journey so far has been great.  Apart from academics, nsit has also helped me in grooming my personality. It has given me a lot of opportunities to participate in extra- curricular activities through fests and societies. The seniors have been really cooperative and are always available when we need help. Nsit also gives a plenty of time to explore our interests and also prepare for higher studies. For me, joining NSIT has been the best decision of my life.

TUSHAR SINHA
BATCH OF 2017, COE
JEE ADVANCED (IIT) AIR: 1971
The college and the stream that you choose today would play a crucial role in determining your career. So, where YOU want to see yourself 30 years down the line should have an appreciable say in this decision. Since an interest in the subject is an indispensable ingredient for success, it’s important to find your passion before you start filling those forms.
In my case, I knew I wanted to pursue Computer Science from a good, reputed college. With a rank of under 2000, I was getting CS in the new IITs, but most of them were still in their early phase, and were just coming up with the first batches yet to pass out.

Secondly, staying in Delhi definitely gives you some unfair advantages. As a plus point, it was close to home too, so I decided to go for NSIT. With its relaxed curriculum, there is ample time to explore new opportunities and develop your skills.
The placements here are at par with the best colleges in India, but that again depends on every individual. If you are aiming for higher studies, maybe the IIT tag would prove more useful. But one thing you can be certain of, you are not closing any doors if you are choosing to join NSIT!

ANMOL
BATCH OF 2018, IT
JEE MAINS AIR: 2068; PUNBAJ RANK: 40
Being from outside Delhi, I did not have the privilege of the 85% Delhi quota. So, getting admission into the esteemed colleges of Delhi was a like a big dream for me.
Like the other students I had also filled up the forms of DTU and IIITD and applied for IITs, IIIT Hyderabad, BITS and NIT Warangal, Suratkal and Trichi.
I had gotten selected in almost all of these institutes with Computers/Electronics as my branch but from this huge list I finally shortlisted NSIT and I still appreciate my decision!

Initially I had some doubts in my mind but our cordial and friendly seniors helped me to remove each one of them and showed me the right path.
In addition to the best senior-junior interaction, the lush green beauty of the campus gives you a warm welcome.
NSIT is just like a second home to me with great hostel facilities here.
Talking about the placements and non-biased rankings, NSIT always stand on the top.

S VAISHNAVI
BATCH OF 2018, BIO-TECNOLOGY
JEE MAINS AIR: 5675
Nsit's reputation, placements, proximity to my place and the fact that it was offering the course of my choice influenced my decision. My experience has been great, the teachers are able and friendly, the labs are well equipped and of course the fests are a major respite from the schedule. On a slightly personal note, Nsit has taught me:

1.They don't kid when they say that seniors are equivalent to god and
2. Mc Cains chocolate pudding can wash away all woes.

DIVYA GUPTA
BATCH OF 2017, COE
JEE MAINS AIR: 436
Being the rank opener of the college, I had many other options like all the NITs, DTU and even some new IITs.Also being a KVPY scholar, I had the chance to join the various IISERs to pursue my career in research but I chose NSIT over all the others.
One of the main reasons for this were my teachers from VMC. They motivated me to study here because I wanted to be a computer engineer. NSIT holds a very good reputation in terms of placements being offered in this branch compared to the other colleges.

I am happy with my decision. It has been two years and the journey's been great so far.
One of the best things about NSIT is that you will always find a healthy competition which will motivate you to always learn something new, to move forward and to take chances when it comes to following  your passion in any particular field.

AKANSHA AGARWAL
BATCH OF 2017, BIO-TECHNOLOGY
JEE MAINS AIR: 1032
I chose NSIT because it was the best college in Delhi after IIT, and my chosen branch had a good reputation here, way better than DTU for that matter :P

I am having a really good time here, rediscovering those parts of my personality that I had suppressed in class 11, 12. This college has so much to offer, you just need to be bold and confident enough to try everything and then get to know what you really like.

PRATEEK MAKKAR
BATCH OF 2017, ICE
JEE MAINS AIR: 9266

With a rank of 9266 in my pocket and a seat in the ECE department of NIT Kurukshetra, I wasn't so sure about NSIT at first. And now yet it turned out be the best decision I've ever made.
With its growing stature and the maintained reputation, NSIT turned out to be a sensible choice. The vivacious atmosphere and the curious minds here give it another edge altogether.

My experience has been utterly  satisfying so far considering one gets plenty of time to follow his  passions, discover new horizons and determine his limits. This place is where you meet amazing people, make friends for a lifetime and the time spent in the hostels, canteens and even the lectures with them makes the four years stay worthwhile

VIDUSHI VASHISHTH
BATCH OF 2018, IT
JEE ADVANCED (IIT) AIR: 3786
I wanted to pursue engineering in computers from a reputed college. Since my advanced rank wasn't enough to get me one in the old IITs, I decided to drop it. Honestly speaking it was a tough decision because I had to put down courses as good as civil in IIT Guwahati or BHU.
I was against the belief of taking any random stream just to gain the prestige of having studied in an IIT. I opted for IT in NSIT because it was the stream of my choice. I had gone over the curriculum NSIT offers and it was one of the most updated one I had come across while looking out for a college. All my anxieties were set to rest when I had attended the orientation and was made aware of the success of some of the alumnus from NSIT. The placements here are unlike any.
Students have gotten into MIT, University of Columbia and other Ivy League colleges for further studies.
My life at NSIT has been quite eventful. I had the opportunity to represent my college in one of the biggest and most prestigious debating forums, Harvard model United Nations. I have met a varied set of focused and guided people. There is a lot of scope for holistic self-development here. After this year I can staunchly say that my decision was right.
