Those wanting to develop their programming can participate in programming contests of various technical festival of colleges,programming websites like TopCoder,CodeChef

Start preparing your resume atleast 2-3 months in advance and get it scrutinised by seniors who have appeared for their placements i.e. 4th years or 3rd years who have interned earlier
