Hostel accomodation at NSIT

There are 4 boys' hostels( BH 1, BH 2, BH 3, BH 4) and 1 girls' hostel(GH) on the NSIT campus. The newest hostel BH-4 is exclusively for first year students.

The Boys' hostels have the capacity to accommodate 400 students overall in single and 2-bedded rooms. All hostels have their own mess in their premises which have 24 Hrs water supply and power backup available.

Every student has access to a wide range of facilities. A common television room, table tennis tables, badminton courts and a parking lots are available at each hostel. NSIT hostels also have LAN facility which is exploited fully by the students. Wi-Fi connection will soon be installed, until then a Sify net connection can be bought individually. Newspapers are available on request.

The Hostels are always abuzz with activity and more so during the fests. The hostel ambience is highly conducive to learning as it follows the 'All for one, one for all' sentiment. During exams, hostels are perfect due to easy availability of notes and assignments.

How to apply for a hostel room?

First years are required to go to the hostel on the orientation day itself. Fill up the hostel application form and submit it to the hostel warden along with the necessary documents.

Documents to produce at the time of Hostel Room Allotment

   1. Residential address proof (Ration Card/Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Bank Passbook etc.) for Parent’s address.
   2. Copy of parent’s Identity Card having Photo and Signature.
   3. Copy of Medical Certificate (in case applying on medical ground)/Transfer Order

Preference is given to outside delhi candidates over the delhi region candidates for hostel allotment. Subsequent vacancies are filled by decreasing order of the distance of the applicants' residences from NSIT. All students are eligible as long as rooms are available.

Applications are generally accepted on the same day itself for outside Delhi candidates.

It is always wiser to have a temporary back-up option incase you're not allotted a room immediately. There are many flats in the adjoining area of the campus where one can stay as a make-shift arrangement.

Apart from hostels, faculty housing, staff quarters and a transit guest house are situated on campus.
