Student Experience in ICE

For engineering aspirants, NSIT isn't a small catch to miss and when I was allotted this branch at NSIT, I was at the seventh heaven, ready to pack my bags and get ready to be a part of one of the most outstanding college of the nation. After spending a year at NSIT, I will definitely express content over my branch and the college. The college not only stands high in the terms of placements and student quality, but also ensures the students to choose their areas of interest with full liberty.

Telling you about the branch, it is as unparalleled as its name. Instrumentation is a very broad area in the sense that it has an interdisciplinary character involving the amalgamation of Computers, Electrical and Electronics engineering into a single curriculum. There is hardly any area of Engineering, Science and Technology where Instrumentation in one form or the other is not needed. Students do intensive use of microprocessors and Computers to understand the hardware and software aspect of Intelligent Instrumentation.

This branch which started in 1989 at NSIT is pretty rare and matchless with only a handful of top notch colleges having it in their course framework. Since its inception the branch has been producing outstanding undergraduate and research students. The division houses a prodigious bunch of labs like Process Control, Instrumentation, Industrial Electronics, Robotics and AI Lab etc. which facilitate quality research and development at the campus.
The branch also incorporates several advanced fields of study into its structure, like Mechatronics which is the synergistic combination of Mechanical and electronics control engineering. Being exposed to a versatile curriculum, we have a number of options available for us if we want to pursue higher studies. In fact the branch which seems less viable in India has a charming scope abroad.

Not to ones surprise, NSIT is a pole apart from its counterparts in terms of MBA admits, and the track history which ICE presents can simply make someone’s head held high. The students from the branch mark their presence in nearly every big college India and abroad.

Not only do the branch boast good technical placements and paper publication history, it is also one of the forth runners of all the hot and happening activities on the campus. Also the students are highly hard working and have come up with some extra ordinary self interest groups like Control Delvers, which cater to the technological ambitions of the students of ICE.
MUNs, Debating, Quizzing, you just need to name the buzzing activities and you have them on the board.
For the rest, I would say that ICE is arguably the only comprehensive branch on campus with multifarious opportunities for all.
ICE – Where zenith is not far away.
