The Curriculum for Instrumentation has many courses in common with Electronics and Computers, apart from several in Process Control and Instrumentation. Some laboratories are common with those of the Electronics and Computers branches. Major Laboratories under the ICE division are outlined below.
Biomedical/Industrial Electronics Lab
This Laboratory has been established to familiarize the students with the capturing analyzing and processing different bio signals. Biopac is an integrated set of instruments which the students use for their experiments. Physiology Lab kits and digital temperature feed back system are also used for training the students in the area of Biomedical Instrumentation.
Process Control Lab
The Process Control Lab aims at training the students in the field of Process Instrumentation, control and optimization. A number of Pentium PCs are interfaced with Hydraulic, Electro-pneumatic and Electro-Hydraulic systems which are available to demonstrate dynamic processes and to monitor process variables. PLC controlled systems are also used to train the students.
